The power of being distracted

Imagine a straight line that goes from number 1 to number 10, 1 is where you are and 10 is you getting your objective, the reason you don´t go directly to the consecution of your objective is because you stop of thinking of your objective. Period.

It is something that marketers knows how to use perfectly:  if you want to sell something to someone DO NOT STOP SHOWING THE BENEFITS OF THE PRODUCTS.

They do this in a very memorable way with publicity of all kind, in the other hand,  great businessmen and successful lawyers also understand this and apply it with an outstanding success, if you want to have a successful negotiation make the people you negotiate with, focus on the pain he or she suffer if they do not accept the deal,  then they just underscore  the benefits.

It is all about keeping the power of focus, yours or others,  in the desired goal,  in this case  the goal of them of course.

What Big distractions tend to be

Basically big distractions are beliefs, beliefs make people act in a very specific way and to avoid doing another kind of actions, for example, if you are in a business meeting, you will be prepared to pay attention to the important aspects of it, you would not prepare to have fun by telling jokes or comment on the last baseball game, you would not even think of doing that, and you would not do that because you have a strong belief of what is the best way to behave in a meeting.

These beliefs are usually converted into something what is defined as the most powerful force in the universe:

Habits

Habits start as beliefs,  you can have habits which can make you distract from the consecution of your objective or you can have habits which can make you focus on the consecution of your objective.

Habits which distract us from our objective are:

thinking  of ourselves as victims.

thinking of our weakness instead of our strength.

complaining frequently of the bad behavior of others.

thinking of the obstacles we have and we will have to get our objective.

These are beliefs that people have converted into a habit.
