I started my career as a blogger on december of last year, it has been a great experience because I have known in a better way this very exciting area, through this months I have had access to many opportunities, some of them great and some of them real scam.

When I was starting this blog I thought of affiliate marketing as a extreme difficult business to get in, fortunately I have had some very good experiences that made me know that it can be an easy area to start a business.

Of course I also have had bad experiences, especially because there are countless courses of affiliate marketing which claim that they will make you very rich and in a short period of time. I have learned, thanks to this bad experiences, to:

1 Be really very careful about the product I like at first

2 Search in google some reviews about the product itself

and

3 Search in google about the reputation of the person who creates the product

By following this very simple and at the same time very powerful guidelines I have been able not only to avoid being defrauded but also to find very interesting products which I intend to buy.

In a coming post I will share with you my experience with these products, and maybe I will write the bad experience I had with a very bad product which unfortunately has a really unrejectable  offer in its sales letter, many people, I think dozen of thousands because it is really a super convincing offer, has taken the offer, of course many people, like me, decided not to follow with the program of the service.

Unfortunately the owners of the page, have charged a small fee, a dollar, to every one who wanted take the offer, this is a small fee of course, but multiplied by the thousand of people, including me, this is at the end of the day a great amount of money.

I am not sure if I have to write the name of the webpage, but certainly they made a lot of money by applying really effective marketing tactics with a really bad purpose, it is even worse for the people who would decide to continue on the program by paying a fee of $47.00 per month, they will be living a very bad dream when they realize that the products they are going to promote and sell are neither popular nor worthy (they are not back up by a solid company).

In the meantime I will keep looking for great products and great guides of affiliate marketing, you know, I am starting in this area, if I find great ones I promise write about it.

There are many topics to have a blog, there are many profitable areas in the net to start one, the most profitable ones are: make money online and make money blogging. There are many other areas in the net which are not profitable like the above mentioned, like:

Personal development

Cars

Video games

Gadgets

Affiliate marketing

Entrepreneurship

Politic

And many other ones. However, I have realized in my short period as a blogger that at the end of the day the most important factor to have a profitable blog is not the area itself. It depends entirely in two factors:

1.- Your passion to produce value.

and

2.- Your ability to market that value.

Period.

Examples of this I see every single day. For instance, there are many make money online and make money blogging blogs in the net trying to imitate the success of very profitable blogs as problogger.com or johnchow.com, a logic reasoning would be that these blogs would have more chances to be more profitable than other blogs which are in other areas not so profitable.

In despite of this there are many blogs on other areas which are by far much more profitable than the multiple blogs which want to have profits just by being in the most profitable area in the blogosphere.

Examples of these are:

dooce.com

stevepavlina.com

zenhabits.net

And many other ones. All of this demonstrate something very important to apply if you want to have a profitable blog:

You really have to write about the things you are passionate about. Period.

I think it is the main factor to have a successful and profitable blog. Only this way it is explained that bloggers like Steve Pavlina, Leo Babauta, Darren Rowse and many other bloggers produce so much content every single week, and most importantly: they continue doing it with really high standards.

Regarding to market the value you produce I think it is a by-product of producing content which is unique and useful, if you don´t have that kind of content in your blog then there won´t be value to market and you only can produce that kind of content if you write with passion the posts you publish on your blog.

This is what your passion can do.
